Nine Months Old!

My dearest baby,

You are nine months old!!! You have officially spent as much time out of the womb as you did in. So last night I was rocking you in your chair and you were all adorable and sleeping and because you were actually still for a moment I got to really see how big you have gotten. You are literally three times bigger than when you were born and three times cuter.

What’s new this month?

• Your hair is starting to get a slight curl in the back and it has gotten darker.
• Sadly, your little turkey legs are starting to slim down now that you are full blown crawling.
• You are crawling EVERYWHERE!
• You “talk” to us now. Before it was repeated goos and mostly screams, but now it is your own version of Ewok. It’s nice to actually have a back and forth conversation during the day with you. Plus, it is seriously the cutest thing you have done thus far besides giggling.
• Getting you to laugh doesn’t take a full blown comedy act anymore.
• You can pull yourself up on all the furniture
• Your hand control is pretty much spot on at this point (Great for future video game playing if it were up to Dad)
• You are still only working with two teeth though – no progress there
• You can pull yourself up in your crib – it’s the getting down part that has yet to be mastered
• You do this tri-pod thing with your hands and feet. I think that you think that it is the next step to this whole walking thing you are so desperate to partake in

Likes:
Mommy -You reach out for me now and want to be with me ALL the time and it really does wonders for my ego (but is killing my back). I’m pushing REALLY hard for Momma to be your first word.
Daddy – When he gets home you get this giant smile on your face and reach for him. It’s beyond adorable. You are still tolerating his Star Wars role playing for reasons I don’t understand.
Standing! ALL THE TIME! Next to the TV stand, in your crib, next to the couch, everywhere!
Reading. You LOVE to read. You will sit for up to a half an hour and just read books – you even turn the pages now. How precious is that!
“Walking” – if I would, you would be perfectly content doing this all day long
Standing on the window sill and looking at the cars and people.
Your carseat. If we time it right, you will sleep from point A to point B – sometimes an hour and a half
The jumperoo – you get some major air these days
Putting anything you can get into your mouth – even dust bunnies.
Pulling all Dad’s games off the shelf one by one.
Standing next to your exersaucer and toy table - you won’t be caught in the exersaucer for more than a few minutes now but you like to crawl underneath it and let me spin you.
Being on Daddy and my shoulders – the view really is better up there…ha ha
Anything that makes noise or that you can bang and make noise
Chewing – again…on anything you can get
When I eat you and your delicious cheeks
Getting into anything that you shouldn’t be getting into
My computer mouse – but not as much as when I leave it plugged in and the laser stays on
Typing long emails to Dad
Ripping paper into tiny tiny shreads – newspapers are your favorite
Peek a boo – but you want to put the blanket on her yourself and take it off yourself
Any funny noise is just hilarious to you- snorts, breathing through my nose, piggy noises

Dislikes:
Eating solids – you are getting a little better but still nothing to write home about
When people get too close to your face and talk loud – it freaks you out
Dry skin – Mom has to put this Vaseline stuff on your cheeks and then you usually “share” on purpose
That Anakin won’t you eat his tail – One day Anakin, One day….
Being left in a room alone
Any kind of juice – What kid doesn’t like juice?
The sippy cup – just not having it
Being told No – but really who does?
Sitting still for longer than a second
Being in the car awake – it bores you
Holding up your own bottle – you can’t be bothered

I LOVE MORE THAN YOU CAN EVER IMAGINE!!!

Mommy
