Smiley Smiley Baby

Daddy Post

Dear Jub-Jub,

6 months old, a milestone. You are sitting up on your own now, playing with your furbrothers, enjoying Dragon Face, and your first tooth came in. Its funny watching your try to eat because it looks like the most uncomfortable experience known to man. You talk more now so we have wonderful conversations about the latest movies, video games, and the Iran missile crisis. One thing I'm not looking forward to: you will soon be growing out of your baby bjorn so it won't be as easy or fun carrying you around.

Love Dad

PS Stop eating your books. If comic books have taught me anything, its that everything has to be kept in mint condition.

A Very Merry Half Birthday To You

My Dearest Baby,

You are officially half a year old! It is inconceivable to me that you are six months old. Let's see if I can remember all that you do these days...

You:

Almost sit up all by yourself now
Talk ALL the time (But really with as much as me and Daddy talk this shouldn't be too shocking)
Are hands down the happiest baby I have ever been around. You smile the majority of the day and I just love it
Attempt to eat your furbrothers every chance you get it
JUST today cut your first tooth - bottom center
Sit in a big girl highchair at home and when we go out
Are finally getting some hair
ADORE ADORE ADORE your exersaucer
Are starting to semi-scoot during tummy time on the floor. Crawling here we come
Have awesome hand control. You can now pick up a toy, drop it, and then pick it up again.
Are thisclose to graduating to a big girl carseat.
Are MAJORLY teething at the moment and have officially entered drool city.
Still Love looking in the mirror
Are ridiculously fun to play with now. There are days that we are playing/singing/reading/being silly and a whole hour flies by.

Some new things that happened this month:
You started food this month on a daily basis. You are less than thrilled about it. The only thing you get jazzed to eat is applesauce. Other than that, crazy things must me done to make you smile so I can sneak it in your mouth - especially bananas. You are simply not a fan and I think I'm done trying to beg you to eat them. You seriously close your mouth and turn your head and REFUSE to open your mouth. Wish us luck.

In the sleep department, bedtime is PERFECT. You are sleeping every night by 8:30 at the latest but usually closer to 7:45 ish. Literally in the last two days, you have only been getting up once for a bottle and then back to sleep till 6am or 6:30am. Its early but you are absolutely edible first thing in the morning so I can't complain.

Naps are simply crazy and unpredictable at the moment. You have been staying up three hours but then only sleeping 45 minutes. Other days, you stay up for only an hour than sleep for an hour and a half. There is no rhyme or reason to them so we are going to start pushing regular nap times tomorrow. But I really think it has everything to do with your teeth. Oh and it would be great if you fell asleep in your crib during the day. But you do look adorable sleeping in your little swing so I'm not too worried about it.

You are starting to look SO MUCH like Daddy these days and are getting this gorgeous strawberry blonde hair. You are losing your little turkey legs and slimming out a little and that makes me sniffle a little. Your personality is starting to really come through now so far you are pretty awesome. See I can write a letter that isn't too mushy...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE you more than you could ever imagine!!!

Gimme That Spoon!

Rub a dub dub Sitting in a pink tub

This is the first and last appearance of the pink tub. While it is adorable, there is ZERO traction on the bottom. But isn't it cute?

The "Wife of the Year" Award Goes To.........SHANNAN ROTHMAN

Today is my TWO year Wedding Anniversary!!!

This My Dear Husband is Long Overdue.

Not that I want to contribute to your already pretty inflated ego but there are some things that I just don't express to you enough on a daily basis so here we go...

I can not verbalize or begin to attempt to describe to you how much I appreciate that you support our family and allow me to stay home with our precious baby. It is the greatest gift that anyone has EVER given me. Your devotion to our family is one of the many reasons that I am absolutely smitten with you.

You are hands down my attitude equal and truth be told I love that about you. I am a handful and you weather all my tantrums, bad moods, hissy fits, and down right bitchy moments with rational thoughts and a soothing tone in times when even the strongest people would crumble.

After years of broken record promises, you still have faith that I will one day get my act together and actually do a few things on my "to do list". Along with that, you nudge me (okay more like forcefully push me) to set my goals high and take those baby steps towards fulfilling them.

I'm not going to lie. This paragraph did set off my hormonal switch and there may have been some teary moments because of it. The way our precious baby looks at you these days makes me become a raw emotional mess. You walk into a room and she instantly gets this HUGE smile on her face and you can just feel how much she adores you. I could go on here but I'm just getting more emotional with each sentence. You are great father and I feel so bad for you when Aria turns 25 and can start dating.

Most importantly, You are my best friend and you make me laugh every single solitary day. You understand me and you make this crazy reality called life easier by merely being my partner through it all.

Now if you would stop throwing your dirty clothes on the floor mere inches away from the hamper or just rinse off your peanut butter knives, you would be a runner in the Husband of the Year awards. However, until this happens you simply do not quality. Sorry to be the barer of bad news.

I Love You More Than You Will Ever Know (or Could Emotionally Handle)
