Dad Post

August 25, 2012

Jubs,

You just said the funniest thing.  It’s getting a bit late at night and, needless to say, Asher is getting…crabby.  As he is whining/complaining you walk up and clearly state: “Go to bed, Asher!”  You said it with this perfect tone like “It’s past your bedtime, baby”.  Your mother and I couldn’t help laughing at it.

Brobee Love

Sometimes you are so adorable that I have to turn on your bedroom light at 10:30 at night to take pictures of you.

Milestone Moment

Today you had your very first dentist appointment.  You were freaking out from the moment you saw the chair and you screamed (SCREAMED) through the whole exam, but after that you were cool.  You were stoked about the complimentary tooth brush and when the assistant handed you one, you promptly said, "Asher's turn" so Asher could get one too.  You have shaped up to be quite the loving big sister.  I was stoked to learn that as long as we get rid of the binky (and your brother's thumb sucking) by 6 your adult teeth will come in normally.  Until next visit...

I couldn't get you to sit in the chair even for a staged picture.
You did touch it once before we left so it evened out.

Potty Chart

A few days ago, you and I made this here Potty Chart!  I wanted you to help me glue and put everything on here so you felt like it was YOUR potty chart.  If you can see through the bad picture quality of Dad's phone, you have THREE stickers already.  You are still resisting the whole potty thing on a daily basis but I will say that you are way more interested post potty chart than you ever were pre-potty chart.  And honestly, I think you would be totally potty trained if Asher wasn't SO interested in the whole potty process.  EVERY time I have you sit on the potty Asher is like RIGHT there making you laugh and/or bugging you.  I'm not exactly sure what to do about all that just yet.  But whatever, it will happen when it happens.

Toddler Step

This is a (bad) picture of you sharing space with a complete stranger little girl.  She kept coming up to you asking to play and you would do your usual response and run away.  BUT today you did so with a smile.  And then later on when you were on this bee bouncy thingy and she jumped on, you didn't run away.  You enjoyed a mutual space with a stranger kid.  A toddler step of sorts.  Too big to be a baby step.
